10 Best in Class winners to be announced at Savannah International Clean Energy Conference, November 11-13, 2012

Peterborough, UK, June 21st, 2012—Green Energy Parks, the UK renewable energy developer, has been nominated for the Global Cleantech Cluster Association 2012 Best in Waste Management Later Stage Award. The awards recognize innovative mid to later stage cleantech companies around the world who actively support the business clusters and incubators in their regions. Green Energy Parks was nominated for the 2012 Later Stage Awards by GCCA Member Cluster, EnviroCluster, the UK Centre for Economic & Environmental Development (UK CEED) for its contribution to sustainable development in Peterborough.Winning companies will be announced at the Savannah International Clean Energy Conference on November 13, 2012 in Savannah, Georgia, USA.

The nomination of Green Energy Parks (GEP) the GCCA Later Stage Awards spotlights the company’s growing prominence in the UK waste management sector, with GEP providing a sustainable alternative to traditions methods of incineration. By utilising best available plasma and gasification technologies, GEP will be able to deliver virtually zero waste to landfill.

“The annual Later Stage Awards has become the international showcase of cleantech’s rising stars,” said Shawn Lesser of Watershed Capital Group and Co-Founder of the GCCA. “All the nominees are developing innovative clean technologies and growing their local green economies and we are thrilled to support them through our award.”

Three categories new to this year’s awards are BioEnergy, Smart Grid/Sustainable IT and Tidal/Hydropower. Over the next 5 months the nominations will be evaluated based on the merits of technology innovation and business acumen by over 30 venture capital and cleantech judges hand-selected for the Later Stage Awards. Combined, the GCCA judges have invested over $3.5 billion in clean technology.
